Designing Online Activities in Math

  • Use the conferencing feature in Canvas, Screencast or other video sharing platform to create short explanation videos.  This will allow you to personalize the instruction, connect with your students and parents, and explain what is expected for your students.
  • You do not need to have everything ready to go on day one.  You can add materials as the days/weeks progress.
  • Be specific and determine a naming convention when making online assignments, this will help students navigate links easier.  Example assignment naming:
    • Day 1 Math Video
    • Day 1 Unit _Lesson_ Lesson Check
    • Day 1 Unit _Lesson_ Fluency Practice
    • Day 1 Center Activity

Testing and State Updates

All JSD Modified Assessments and due dates will be suspended in order to focus on preparing Digital Learning Materials.
